Field & Fern
Service: The Whole Damn Thing (Branding + Website Design)
Field & Fern began as a deeply personal career shift for founder Jill Pfund. After years working in a fast-paced design career and reaching a point of burnout, she found herself drawn toward the steadying presence of animals. Riding horses, volunteering at an animal sanctuary, and learning massage techniques to support her rescue dog Carmy’s arthritis eventually led her to train in both small- and large-animal massage.
We helped turn that evolving mission into a brand with room for both the business she is building now and her long-term vision of a nature-based sanctuary. The identity balances the openness and movement of the field with the quiet rest and healing represented by the fern.
Soft illustrations, an earthy Pacific Northwest visual language, and warm, plainspoken messaging help the website feel caring without becoming precious or overly clinical.
Every part of the experience reinforces Jill’s animal-led philosophy: slow down, pay attention, and provide thoughtful care where each animal already feels safest.
